The growth of both local and wide area networks (LAN and WAN) requires the availability of trained certified network personnel. The Preparation for Cisco and Comptia Linux Certification Program focuses on the key networking technologies to plan, design, and implement local and wide area networks. Graduates of this program will be employed as PC support specialists, network administrators and network designers. Due to the shortage of trained personnel employment opportunities are excellent.
The program aims at preparing students to enter the workforce as Specialized Networking personnel. The program provides training towards the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and the Comptia Linux Certification.

This program is designed for students with basic computer software and hardware knowledge who wish to enter or further their careers in the Information Technology field.

Preparation for Cisco and Comptia Linux Certification Program is designed to allow students to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare them for:
The industry exam for certification as a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
The industry exam for certification in Comptia Linux.

Admissions Requirements
Ministerial Requirements
Applicants must have a Secondary V diploma or equivalent or acquired knowledge and skills deemed sufficient by the College for potential success in the program
In addition, the applicant must meet one of the following requirements:
the applicant’s studies have been interrupted for at least two consecutive terms or one school year;
the applicant is covered by an agreement entered into by the College and an employer or by a government program;
the applicant has completed at least one year of post-secondary studies over a period of one year or more
College Requirements
Mathematics 426 or equivalent, or must pass a math placement test.
English language skills equivalent to placement at English Upgrading or higher. Students may be required to take an English placement exam.
Evidence of basic computer software and hardware knowledge. A test may be required.
Applicants must complete a computer technology aptitude test.
An interview to assess their readiness to study to be certified in networking.
